Chiropractic Manipulation
Chiropractic  manipulation is also known as an adjustment. Adjustments are safe and effective ways of restoring movement in the body, decreasing pain, and improving joint function. An adjustment consists of an impulse into the area of dysfunction where an audible noise, called cavitation, is sometimes heard. Cavitation is the release of gas from a  joint when it is adjusted. Chiropractic adjustments can be done with either the doctor's hands or instrument assisted.
Soft Tissue Manipulation
The purpose of soft tissue manipulation is to loosen tight muscles, to help decrease the pain in the area of complaint and increase flexibility and joint movement. At Adirondack Chiropractic Center we perform soft tissue manipulation with our hands and a G5 massager.

Passive Modalities
The passive care modalities that are offered at Adirondack Chiropractic Center are the following:
  • Electric Stimulation Therapy is used to help treat pain, decrease inflammation, and decrease muscle spasms. It can also help prevent muscle atrophy and build muscle strength.

  • Ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves to treat muscle spasms, relieve pain, decrease joint stiffness, and help acute and chronic injuries heal.

  • Heat Therapy helps with relaxing tight muscles, decreasing muscle spasms and pain, and increasing joint range of motion. Our heat therapy consists of using hot moist packs.

  • Ice Therapy helps with decreasing pain and swelling. Ice is primarily used for acute injuries.

  • Diathermy uses high frequency electric current to help relieve pain and increase tissue flexibility as they heal. The high frequency electric current generates heat within body tissues which increases the blood flow and helps the tissue heal.
Therapeutic Exercises
Depending on your condition we may suggest and demonstrate particular therapeutic exercises that you can do at home to help with the healing process and/or help prevent future injuries. Therapeutic exercises focus on helping a specific group of muscles and joints gain strength, flexibility, and endurance.
Nutritional Guidance

Dr. James Meglino believes in the health benefits that can come with taking the correct supplements. Medications can often deplete valuable vitamins and minerals in your body which can leave you feeling tired, anxious, or unable to concentrate. That is why we offer a variety of vitamins and minerals at the office and would be happy to suggest supplements that can help counteract whichever ailment that is currently bothering you.
